Absolutely incompetent, worse still dishonest. Glen Bradshaw was contracted to build a burnished concrete house slab. Before employing him I asked him if he had experience of building a slab for this purpose. He claimed to have. He build the slab without reading the engineering plans! The slab cracked extensively and when he was questioned about this he began sidestepping. First, it was the concrete, then the unforeseen. When it was revealed that he hadn't followed the engineering plans he responded "I never read that page", I'll repeat it because I still cannot believe it "I never read that page". This is the page that has all the detail about what he should do! Unbelievable. He then falsely claimed he was building a slab with a smooth trowel finish, not a burnished slab.
Either way the slab was not fit for purpose. Further, the slab was out of square and a large chunk of concrete came off when he removed the formwork (he did this the day of the pour, not 24hrs later as it should have been). Negligent and dishonest. You only get one chance with concrete, don't waste it.
