Heather Millar (Zest Communications) is a writer, ghostwriter and editor specialising in magazines, memoir and general non-fiction.
Helping people tell their stories is a passion of mine. Before my father passed away, my sisters and I helped him to record his memoirs, and I developed them into a book about his life. It made me want to do more of this kind of work.
I began volunteering in the Biography Program at the Calvary Hospital, recording the memoirs of palliative care patients. I see the gift it gives people – to have their story witnessed before they die, and for the family to have a record of that person’s life.
I have also ghostwritten books – spending hours interviewing people and helping shape their stories.
