CAUTIONS: Wayne may waste your time, he may not deliver on promises, he may be slow to respond and/or not answer calls after sale has taken place, he may not complete appropriate forms such as warranty, beware of 'transport' inter-state as the vehicle may be driven instead.
Very, very disappointed with the customer service offered by Wayne Elven Motors. I would advise not trusting this man especially if you are purchasing from inter-state.
Initially he was keen to talk about the van for sale, which I had inspected by NRMA and decided to go ahead with the purchase. Several pitfalls in that decision became apparent after the purchase date (which was a Wednesday):
- Wayne assured me my van was to be transported from Sydney to Melbourne arriving at Tullamarine on a Saturday (due to a public holiday on the Friday). I trekked out there to discover no van and no shop open (he said it would definitely be open on Saturday) when I called and messaged him, he replied to me by text on the Monday morning!! So I was left for 2 days wondering where my van was (all funds paid).
- Wayne had promised to send my van from Melbourne to Sydney on a transport truck (apparently at a cost of $600), when I received the van (4 days late!!) there was an extra 800km on the odometer!! So the van had been driven down from Sydney and not transported.
- Wayne promised a 3 month warranty which did not arrive with the vehicle.
- Wayne told me there were 3 keys to the van, but only 2 arrived with the vehicle.
- photos of the van interior were falsified, the photo on CarSales of the van floor did not match in reality (the van floor was in much poorer condition than displayed in the for sale photo).
- Wayne has no interest in completing transfer of registration forms (which I emailed to him with no reply)
- Wayne told me he would fix the back of the middle car seat, which had come undone, and the number plate lights, neither of which was done properly before delivery.
