Over 25 years ago, a family-run cleaning company in Melbourne was the forerunner of United Home Services. United was governed in the early years by direct workers and contractors. Before we started franchising in 1995, this gave us extensive understanding of the services being delivered.
Cleaning, gardening, and ironing were the home services that the company concentrated on since they offered Franchisees the most potential. These all share a lot of characteristics. First off, there is a large demand from customers. Second, they all need very easy-to-learn abilities, and third, they all require returning to the same clients. We concentrate our efforts on teaching our franchisees how to provide the highest standards of quality and customer service and how to sustain those standards throughout the course of their employment. With a strong focus on the Melbourne market when it first started franchising, United has since expanded throughout Victoria and is now looking to expand nationwide.
Mpower Franchising Pty Ltd, which also owns the mobile car detailing franchise Car Care and the house cleaning franchise Housework Heroes, bought the company in 2010. In New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia, and South Australia, United Home Services operates under the name Housework Heroes.
