Company description
"The Swan Cove experience begins with an enchanted ferry ride across to the island and a 10-minute drive along quiet gravel roads before arriving at your sanctuary accommodation.
Built by a German craftsman in the 1980s, The two, 2 storey artisan Tudor-style cottages are secluded off a beautiful long winding driveway and are but a few meters from the water's edge with its safe sandy beach.
Offering coziness and comfort reminiscent of cottages on the coasts of Scotland but with the warmth of the French Riviera, all recent renovations have been done with the environment in mind using sustainable products including cork flooring in the kitchens. The owners live on the property and are available for local knowledge and a tour of the permaculture Octagon.
Be excited to wake up to sunrise on the beach or relax around the crackling fire pit in the evening watching the full moon rise over the water.
Tall gumtrees and Old Man banksias are home to abundant wildlife including fluffy koalas, spiky echidnas, tawny frogmouth birds, cheeky parrots, magnificent sea eagles, and friendly kangaroos.
With a mild climate in winter and cooling sea breezes in summer, Raymond Island is at the centre of the Gippsland Lakes, the finest inland lake system in the southern hemisphere.
Enjoy swimming, bushwalking, sailing, boating, and fishing in a pristine environment…or simply relax and just be. Island life is the best.
In summer you can net prawns or land a fish from the jetty straight onto the BBQ.
Explore the lakes in the complimentary kayaks or enjoy some easy island bike riding across to Paynesville for Chef Hatted fine dining or local takeaway on the foreshore.
Yoga and cooking classes, meditation, and nutrition consultations are available for those wanting to add wellness to their holiday."
