"At OWN Health, our naturopathy services focus upon the use of evidence-based nutrition and herbal medicine to support the appropriate biochemical pathways and optimise the body's ability to heal and thrive. In order to provide the most appropriate and individualised approach, naturopathy consultations are very thorough and can last for a much longer period of time than those of allopathic medicine. Initial consultations can last for up to 1.5 hours, and will provide you with the time to explain the reason(s) for your appointment in depth and to ask any questions about our services or how we may be able to help you. A series of health-related questions will be asked regarding your medical history, diet, and lifestyle. You may also be asked to fill out some written questionnaires. Non-invasive physical observations may be taken (such as blood pressure or analysis of the nails, tongue, and eyes) as well as arrangments for further functional testing if required. These functional tests may involve blood, saliva, urine, or faecal specimens, but can usually be done in the privay of your own home with one of our take-home kits.

At OWN Health we also take an individualised, evidence-based approach to our fitness services, strongly influenced by the emerging fields of biomechanics and epigenetics. This scientific approach allows clients to optimise their mobility and functionality, as well as improve body composition/weight, overall health, fitness, and longevity. It takes a lifelong commitment to be able to optimise and maintain the above factors - exercise is not a ""quick-fix"" solution by any means. Due to the many varying health benefits of a long-term exercise program, OWN Health offers ongoing weekly training programs designed for the individual. This not only allows the client ample time to learn correct techniques and movement patterns (and therefore speed up progress and lessen the risk of injury), but also allows their program to be specifically tailored to their individual needs and goals. Trial sessions are also available to give clients the opportunity to experience our training services before commiting long-term. Training sessions are scheduled at regular times (with some flexibility where necessary), with a minimum of one session a week and a maximum of four sessions a week, depending on the goals and preferences of the client. Clients can opt out of training at any time. Working alongside our naturopath/nutritionist also allows our clients access to high quality practitioner-only supplements to support performance, recovery, and repair."
