Company description
At MSCD, we believe that all children deserve the best education possible and our teachers strive every day to give your child good solid foundations in their early dance training and exciting challenges as they advance their skills. Whether a student enjoys ballet as a hobby or has professional aspirations, at MSCD they will receive ample personal attention and will learn to appreciate, enjoy and respect the art of classical ballet and other dance styles. While ballet is the primary focus of our students, children above the age of ten undertake an a well-rounded curriculum of ballet, national character, conditioning, jazz and contemporary.
Our main focus throughout the year is in the studio, where the majority of learning takes place. Students who have mastered the basics of their art form and are ready to further extend themselves may be invited to participate in competitions or guest performances. At the end of the year, the whole school presents our annual concert with all the trimmings.
In 2013 we are please to announce the implementation a new and exciting half-day ballet program for committed and talented students aged 11 to 18.
Our adult school has grown out of a mutual passion for dance, learning, growth and fun. The one thing we hear time and time again from our adult students is that they want to learn properly and be taken seriously. Our teachers don't skimp on technique just because you're starting ballet in another phase of life - we will work with you day in, day out for small miracles!
Yes, we teach "real beginners" and yes, we also offer drop-in morning and evening classes for advanced and professional dancers including ballet teachers staying in shape.
We are flexible, so if you enrol in a class that isn't quite your level, it's no problem to move up or down a level once the term has started.
