So here goes… Electrofusion, for those that are interested, is basically an electric coil contained within a plastic pipe socketed fitting. The poly pipe and fitting is heated by the electrical coil to a set temperature, so as to melt the fitting and the plastic pipe that it is being welded to, in a controlled fashion, causing the two items to be joined and become as one part. Electrofusion utilises a 240V electric control box, which by means of a transformer, lowers the voltage and increases the amperage. This machine is plugged into the electrofusion socket via two low voltage leads, for the duration of the weld cycle. Nothing too complicated here. Quite simple actually.
